Earlier this summer, ProductLife Group employees set out to cover 3,000 kilometres together. By the time the challenge closed, they had covered 8,950.6 kms.
Move for Health Access ran from 22 June to 13 July 2026 as part of Days for the Planet, our CSR initiative through which colleagues across the group contribute to PLG’s social and environmental impact. Colleagues could take part from anywhere, in their own time, by walking, running, cycling, hiking or swimming, with activities recorded through Strava.
There was one target for the whole company rather than individual goals, and the company donation depended on reaching it collectively. That was deliberate. ProductLife Group has grown through the coming together of a number of companies across many countries, and this was a chance for teams who don’t often work directly with one another to contribute to the same cause. The 3,000 km mark was passed halfway through, so we kept going to see how far the group could get.
Reaching the target unlocked ProductLife Group’s donation to the WHO Foundation. The funds support the World Health Organization’s work to strengthen disease surveillance and public health preparedness through the use of innovative digital technologies and artificial intelligence, helping countries identify emerging health threats earlier, respond more effectively, and protect the health of their populations.
We chose this area because it connects closely to our own work. ProductLife Group supports the life sciences industry in regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, quality and compliance, market access and digital transformation, and a growing part of what we do involves helping clients use data and AI responsibly within regulated environments. The same thinking applied at national level helps health authorities spot health threats sooner and respond faster.
The final distance was made up of short walks, morning runs, weekend rides and cycle commutes logged by colleagues across our offices worldwide. Every one of our business units took part: Market & Patient Access, Product Compliance, Product Development & Engineering, and Digital & Innovation, alongside our Corporate & Support Functions. No single team could have reached the target alone, and every kilometre counted the same, whichever business unit or country it came from.
This marks our first collaboration with the WHO Foundation, and we look forward to building on this partnership in the future. Our thanks to the Foundation for their support throughout, and to every colleague who took part.
