Role Purpose & Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Member of the local leadership team, contributing to local annual and long-term objectives and strategy aligned with global objectives.
    • Collaborate with the global Head of Business Unit to ensure alignment of local strategies with global objectives.
    • Provide leadership to the local BU, achieving financial and organizational objectives, and representing the BU internally and externally.
    • Develop and implement strategies for BU growth and development.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Oversee business promotion, service differentiation, and thought leadership initiatives.
    • Manage and develop client relationships, support new business initiatives, and opportunities for local and global growth.
    • Ensure optimal utilization of the team, staff performance management, professional development, and succession planning aligned with global strategy.
    • Adhere to all policies and quality management systems.
  • Technical Expertise & Market Leadership:
    • Recognized leader in the local market (Australia and New Zealand) in health economics, HTA submission strategy and implementation, pricing, and policy experience.
    • Strong technical skill set with experience across the full landscape of therapeutics and engagement with technical advisory bodies (PBAC, MSCA, ATAGI, NBA).
    • Strong understanding and track record in negotiating or assisting clients in negotiating pricing packages with the Department of Health.
    • Ability to demonstrate leadership and be a trusted partner on strategy, while also being involved at the client and project level.
    • Support research and intelligence activities, leveraging market research and real-world data/evidence.
    • Preference for a leader with consulting/advising experience across a broad range of companies.
    • Experience in leading teams and developing HTA and health economics professionals.
    • Ability to represent regional trends and needs, contributing to the global BU and local CE/PLG JAPAC leadership team to achieve growth targets.
    • Bring innovative solutions from various companies and markets to enhance the value proposition.
    • Champion of change, working cross-collaboratively with the local leadership team and the global BU team.
  • Business Development:
    • Build on the existing commercial base through business development initiatives.
    • Meet agreed financial objectives, ensure teamwork, cross-functionality, and operational efficiencies.
    • Encourage value-based professional conduct and deliver excellent client service.
    • Provide recommendations on resource planning, recruitment, and selection.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, pharmacology, pharmacy, or related field.
    • Postgraduate degree in management, health economics, public health, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant management/consulting or industry experience.
    • Vision and energy to lead and grow a consulting/technical professional service business.
    • Outstanding reputation in the pharmaceutical and/or medical tech industry.
    • Extensive network in the pharmaceutical and/or medical tech industry (middle & senior levels).
    • Experience in managing functions/departments.
    • Financial acumen and business management aptitude.
    • Demonstrated business development skills.
