Responsibilities

As a Travel Associate (Intern) you will:

  • Diagnose all travel requests specifications and asses the most suitable approach
  • Research various destinations based on the provided guidelines following budgets
  • Supply travelers with pertinent information and useful material (guides, maps, event programs etc)
  • Collect deposits and balances as guided by the Corporate Accounting Department; record financial statements and documents
  • Create and update electronic records for group corporate travels
  • Use promotional techniques to secure cost efficiency
  • Handle unforeseen problems and complaints and determine eligibility for money returns/refunds
  • Maintain relationships with key persons and staff members

Group 11
Education

  • Degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism or relevant field

Group 12
Experience

  • Proven working experience as a Travel Consultant of min 1 year

 

Group 13
Skills

  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
  • Well versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international, business/corporate, group/individual, travel insurance, travel regulations)
  • Strong knowledge of all corporate travel lodgings
  • Good knowledge of traveling software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travel)
  • Demonstrable ability to handle crises
  • Proficiency in financial management.
  • Ability to present, persuade and communicate effectively
